Sunday R.E.P.O.R.T
Reading:
This week’s “reading” isn’t from a book, but from a fortune cookie that said, “Avoid scattering your energies.” It hit home. Lately, I’ve been juggling work, travel, school, and family, and this little reminder felt perfectly timed. Focus really is a form of self-care. It’s not about doing less, but about doing what matters most with intention.
Eating:
Cooking at home has been one of my favorite things since I was a kid. When I was 7, I baked my first ever cake with my mother and that memory has stayed with me forever. This weekend, I baked banana chocolate-chip muffins, and there’s something so grounding about the smell of baked goods filling your kitchen. It reminded me how food connects us to home, comfort, and simple joy.
Playing:
I watched Victoria Beckham’s latest interview on the Call her daddy podcast, and I absolutely enjoyed it. It’s equal parts girl power, humor and grace. Her reflections on ambition, prpving yourself and staying true to yourself resonated deeply with me as a woman navigating career growth, leadership, and motherhood.
Obsessing:
Turning my house into a home. I finally printed and framed family pictures, something I’d been meaning to do since moving in July. It’s amazing how those little frames instantly made the space feel warmer and more “us.” I’m not great at home decor, but I know what I love and what makes me love my home, and old school printed pictures will bever go out of fashion for me.
Recommending:
If you’re in Ottawa, do yourself a favour and try Angry Dragonz. Their crispy chicken stir-fry is the perfect comfort food : flavourful, satisfying, and a little addictive. My younger son and I had it twice this week lol!
Thankful:
For rest. The past few weeks have been heavy deadlines, classes, travel, and family logistics. But I’m learning to pause, breathe, and recharge without guilt. Rest isn’t a reward; it’s a necessity. I am someone who’s mind is always racing, and unless I am intentional about it, I can run myself to burnout
May your week ahead be filled with focus, flavour, and little reminders of home. 💛
